Troubleshooting

Which build plate works best for each filament (PEI, textured, glue stick)?

First in this ranking: Bambu Lab PLA Basic.

1Bambu Lab PLA BasicA PLA bed example, not a plate SKU. PLA Basic lists a bed of 35–45 °C (95–113 °F) and a nozzle of 190–230 °C (374–446 °F). The catalog does not store smooth versus textured PEI.PLA

Match the sheet to the material, then keep the bed temperature on the spool. The catalog does not store smooth, textured, or engineering as a field. Bed adhesion is the wash, the Z offset, and the glue step.

PLA, PETG, ABS, and ASA

A comment on r/prusa3d 1j75sj3 says that person normally prints PLA on the smooth sheet. PLA Basic lists a bed of 35–45 °C (95–113 °F). The same comment names Vision Miner's Nina polymer adhesive when they want texture on PLA, and for large PETG prints to limit warping.

PETG HF lists a bed of 65–75 °C (149–167 °F). The bed-adhesion guide uses glue or a textured plate so PETG does not weld to smooth PEI. This page does not add a temperature for that weld. PETG printing is the rest of the PETG process.

Bambu ABS and Bambu ASA each list a bed of 90–110 °C (194–230 °F). Glue is the extra grip while the bed is in that range. The summary's engineering plate is not a SKU on these rows. Warping is what happens when the corners lift anyway. Nylon keeps its own drying notes. PC keeps its own nozzle and bed.

Threads that do not add a plate

The supplied comments on r/BambuLab 1ipuusy are about the history of weed-whacker line as filament. They are not a PEI recommendation. r/BambuLab 10p48ob is also in the bed-adhesion cluster, where it is a textured PEI plate that stopped holding PLA, and the fix there is the wash. r/3Dprinting 1ipv1nl and r/FixMyPrint vkx7qt are listed in this bank without a supplied excerpt.

A second comment on r/prusa3d 1j75sj3 is about cutting a brim with a deburring tool. That is finishing, not a plate choice.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Smooth PEI for PLA is both the summary and a supplied comment.
  • Bed temperatures stay on the spool. The plate choice does not rewrite them.

Cons

  • No ranked row stores a build-plate type. Reading the table as a PEI shopping list would add a column the catalog does not have.
  • r/3Dprinting 1ipv1nl and r/FixMyPrint vkx7qt are in the bank without a supplied excerpt, so this page does not quote them.

What the community says

The editorial summary says smooth PEI for PLA, textured PEI for PETG or glue as a release, and an engineering plate plus glue for ABS, nylon, and PC. A comment on r/prusa3d 1j75sj3 matches the PLA half: that person prints PLA on the smooth sheet, and names Vision Miner's Nina polymer adhesive for texture on PLA and for large PETG prints. The bed-adhesion guide already says glue stick for PETG, ABS, ASA, and nylon, and that PETG can weld to smooth PEI. This page does not add a plate SKU or a weld temperature the catalog does not list.

Questions

Does the catalog name a PEI plate for each filament?

No. Bambu PLA Basic, PETG HF, ABS, and ASA list bed temperatures and do not list a plate. Smooth PEI for PLA, and textured PEI or glue for PETG, are the process in the first sentence and on the bed-adhesion guide.

What glue does the Prusa-thread comment name?

Vision Miner's Nina polymer adhesive, for PLA when that person wants texture and for large PETG prints to limit warping. The bed-adhesion guide's glue stick is the separate general step for PETG, ABS, ASA, and nylon. Neither one replaces the bed range on the spool.
