Drying
How long and at what temp should I dry PETG?

How to use this number
- The first sentence is the span and the median of the official tables it names. It is not a new setpoint.
- Stay inside that published temperature span and that published time span. The median is the middle of those tables.
- Use the product row in the table before you start. One brand can sit at either end of the range.
| Brand | Tables | Median | Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anycubic | 1 | 60 °C (140 °F) | 55–65 °C (131–149 °F) |
| Bambu Lab | 3 | 65 °C (149 °F) | 65 °C (149 °F) |
| Creality | 1 | 65 °C (149 °F) | 65 °C (149 °F) |
| Dancyn 3D Prints | 1 | 65 °C (149 °F) | 65 °C (149 °F) |
| ELEGOO | 6 | 60 °C (140 °F) | 55–65 °C (131–149 °F) |
| eSUN | 2 | 60 °C (140 °F) | 60 °C (140 °F) |
| Flashforge | 1 | 70 °C (158 °F) | 70 °C (158 °F) |
| Overture | 1 | 65 °C (149 °F) | 65 °C (149 °F) |
| Polymaker | 5 | 65 °C (149 °F) | 55–65 °C (131–149 °F) |
| Prusament | 1 | 55 °C (131 °F) | 55 °C (131 °F) |
| QIDI Tech | 3 | 62.5 °C (145 °F) | 55–65 °C (131–149 °F) |
| SUNLU | 3 | 62.5 °C (145 °F) | 60–65 °C (140–149 °F) |
Range Fahrenheit is the value the maker published. Median Fahrenheit is the conversion of the median Celsius. This is not a recommendation.

Dry PETG at 65 °C (149 °F) for 6 hours on the PolyLite PETG sheet and for 8 hours on the Bambu PETG HF sheet. PETG drying is a number on the product, not a single community average. The overview is drying. PLA's published cycles are does PLA need drying. Hardware is ovens and dehydrators and which dryer. The drying table for the catalog is filament drying data. Every official PETG row is on PETG drying temperature and time.
Three PETG cycles
PolyLite PETG lists 220–250 °C (428–482 °F), a bed of 70–90 °C (158–194 °F), and drying at 65 °C (149 °F) for 6 h. Drying checked 18 October 2026. Bambu PETG HF lists 230–260 °C (446–500 °F), a bed of 65–75 °C (149–167 °F), and drying at 65 °C (149 °F) for 8 h, checked the same day. ELEGOO Rapid PETG lists 240–270 °C (464–518 °F), a bed of 65–75 °C (149–167 °F), and drying at 60 °C (140 °F) for 8 h on the 1 kg page checked 17 October 2026. SUNLU PETG 2.0 stores 65 °C (149 °F) for 8 h from the SUNLU wiki checked 18 October 2026, with an Open Filament Database nozzle of 230–270 °C (446–518 °F) and a bed of 70–80 °C (158–176 °F). The order is not a ranking of which PETG dries better.
Prusament PETG's drying cell of 55 °C (131 °F) for 6 h is the material default from Prusa's drying article. It is not printed here as the Prusament PETG technical data sheet.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Each hour in the answer is a filament source, with the page and the check date.
- The comment's 3 hours and 8 hours stay labeled as a comment.
Cons
- The three sheets do not agree with each other. 6 h and 8 h are both published.
Printer considerations
- SUNLU PETG 2.0 stores drying at 65 °C (149 °F) for 8 h from the SUNLU wiki, checked 18 October 2026. Nozzle 230–270 °C (446–518 °F) and bed 70–80 °C (158–176 °F) are the Open Filament Database cells. The older drying guide said hours were not stored for that row. The current row stores 8 h.
- Prusament PETG's 55 °C (131 °F) for 6 h is a material default from Prusa's drying article, not the Prusament PETG technical data sheet. Do not treat 55 °C (131 °F) as that TDS.
- The score-6 comment says water in wet filament boils near the nozzle and upsets flow. It gives no temperature. It is not a drying cycle.

Questions
Can I copy a PLA drying cycle onto PETG?
No. Does PLA need drying is 50 °C (122 °F) for 8 h or 55 °C (131 °F) for 6 h on the PLA sheets there. The PETG sheets on this page are 60 °C (140 °F) or 65 °C (149 °F). Drying is the material overview. Ovens and dehydrators and which dryer are the hardware pages.
