About

Where the numbers come from

A product page shows a figure only when a source states it. The sources already on a record are the Open Filament Database, an exact SpoolmanDB match, or a manufacturer technical data sheet or product page that was opened and the number copied. FilamentFacts has not printed a test spool, and it does not fill a temperature from the material family.

How a figure is verified

Dataset imported is the Open Filament Database generation date. It is not a lab measurement. SpoolmanDB is used only when the brand, material, and product name match and the field was empty. A manufacturer sheet or product page is copied into a field that was still empty, and that page is the Source link on the figure.

Last checked is the date stored with that sheet or product page. If the record has no date for that URL, the line does not invent one. A printer limit uses the date stored on that printer record.

When sources disagree

A number already copied from the database stays. A later sheet does not replace it. The sheet is used for fields that were blank, and any note stored with that check is shown under Sources & notes. An em dash means the figure is not in our current sources. It is not a claim that the manufacturer confirmed the absence, unless the cited page was opened and the figure was not on it.

How often pages are re-checked

There is no standing calendar. A page is re-checked when that source is opened again, and the new date replaces the stored one. Until then, the date on the page is the last date that was recorded.
