The AMS lite is the feeder on the A1 and A1 mini. What it can pull is Bambu's material table, not a brand ranking. The AMS is the larger unit and the same avoid-list for ordinary TPU. A1 and A1 mini filaments is the hotend and bed limits. TPU on Bambu is the external-spool path.

The table, then three rows

Bambu's filament guide marks standard PLA compatible with the AMS and AMS lite. The note under that table says PLA includes Basic, Matte, Tough, Metal, Silk, Aero, and Dynamic, and excludes PLA-CF, PLA-GF, Sparkle, and Marble. PETG is marked compatible. The TPU row is Not Compatible with the AMS and AMS lite. A separate list says filament that is too soft, including TPU 95A, 85A, 83A, and 80A, is not recommended because it will not pass the channel. Certain PLA Wood is called out as too brittle for the AMS lite, while that wood filament is marked compatible with the AMS.

PLA Basic lists 190–230 °C (374–446 °F), a bed of 35–45 °C (95–113 °F), and drying at 50 °C (122 °F) for 8 h, sheet checked 14 October 2026. The store page says it is AMS compatible. ELEGOO Rapid PETG lists 240–270 °C (464–518 °F), a bed of 65–75 °C (149–167 °F), and drying at 60 °C (140 °F) for 8 h, US page checked 17 October 2026. TPU for AMS stores drying at 70 °C (158 °F) for 8 h, sheet checked 18 October 2026, and does not list a nozzle or a bed. The order follows the table's PLA, then a PETG the comment names, then the TPU SKU the AMS page already isolates. It is not a ranking.

What the community says

a Reddit thread in r/BambuLab recommends an Elegoo Rapid PETG multipack and calls it very affordable.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • The compatibility words are Bambu's table, already used on the multicolor and TPU pages, not a guess from the titles.
  • PLA Basic has a published nozzle and bed, so the default rigid load has numbers.

Cons

  • TPU for AMS has no nozzle or bed in this catalog row. Do not copy them from PLA Basic.
  • The Elegoo comment is a purchase suggestion. It is not a line on Bambu's table.

Questions

Does ordinary TPU go in the AMS lite?

Bambu's filament table marks TPU Not Compatible with the AMS and AMS lite. The soft-filament note names TPU 95A, 85A, 83A, and 80A. TPU on Bambu is that limit. TPU for AMS is a separate catalog product. Its row here has drying at 70 °C (158 °F) for 8 h and no nozzle or bed. The AMS is where that SKU is already the named exception.

Will any PETG spool run in the AMS lite because the table says PETG?

The table marks PETG compatible. It does not list Elegoo, Polymaker, or a cardboard spool. A1 and A1 mini filaments is the printer side, including the stored nozzle and bed limits. A score-4 comment that likes Elegoo Rapid PETG is a comment. The US page checked 17 October 2026 lists 240–270 °C (464–518 °F) and a bed of 65–75 °C (149–167 °F). That is a print setting, not an AMS lite certificate.
