Part cooling in this bank is a set of comments, not one table. PLA replies argue both directions. ABS replies keep the fan low. PETG's only number here is a chamber fan on one printer.
PLA
PolyLite PLA lists the fan on, a nozzle of 190–230 °C (374–446 °F), a bed of 25–60 °C (77–140 °F), and 40–60 mm/s. Bridging with that fan line is bridging.
r/BambuLab 11k02bp is warping PLA, a 70 °C (158 °F) bed, and no fan for the first 10 layers. A score-21 reply turns the aux fan off for the whole print. A score-8 reply lowers the bed to 50 °C (122 °F). PLA Basic lists a bed of 35–45 °C (95–113 °F), so both 70 °C (158 °F) and 50 °C (122 °F) are above that row. 50 °C (122 °F) sits inside PolyLite PLA's bed. Warping process is warping.
r/FixMyPrint 1kihpei is Polymaker PLA matte at 220 °C (428 °F) and 55 °C (131 °F), aux fan off, 0.6 mm nozzle, on a P1S. The score-27 reply says the small layers need a longer minimum layer time. A score-3 reply turns the aux fan on and says not to print PLA fully enclosed. 220 °C (428 °F) and 55 °C (131 °F) sit inside the PolyLite PLA row.
PETG
r/BambuLab zz2kd2 sets the chamber fan to 10% from the screen and reports a chamber of 39 °C (102 °F), which the poster calls good for strong PETG. That pair is the post. PETG HF lists 230–260 °C (446–500 °F), a bed of 65–75 °C (149–167 °F), and drying at 65 °C (149 °F) for 8 h, and it does not list a chamber-fan percent. Low part cooling for PETG is the process on good PETG prints.
ABS
r/FixMyPrint 1eq1o4v is a first ABS print that lifted. The poster lists SUNLU ABS at 250 °C (482 °F), 260 °C (500 °F) on the first layer, and a 90 °C (194 °F) bed. SUNLU ABS lists 230–260 °C (446–500 °F) and a bed of 90–110 °C (194–230 °F), so those settings sit on the row. A score-18 reply wants the part fan off, or about 25%. A score-4 reply stays at 260 °C (500 °F) and 100 °C (212 °F), with the fan off or at most 15–20% on overhangs. Bambu ABS lists 230–260 °C (446–500 °F) and 90–110 °C (194–230 °F), so 260 °C (500 °F) is the top of the nozzle and 100 °C (212 °F) is inside the bed. A score-11 reply on an enclosed v400, which is not in this printer table, runs the fan from 0 to 20, preheats the bed to 120 °C (248 °F), prints at 95 °C (203 °F), and reads a chamber around 47 °C (117 °F). Little or no part cooling is the ABS process on ABS printing.
r/3Dprinting wcruou is PLA+ water-cooling fittings, not a fan test. A score-12 reply says PLA degrades in water and to prototype, then make the part in ABS. A score-4 reply guesses loop water around 40 °C (104 °F). PLA, PETG, and ABS are the material pages.
Pros and cons
Pros
- PolyLite PLA's fan-on line is the product page. The Reddit percentages stay labeled as comments.
- The SUNLU ABS temperatures in the post sit inside the SUNLU ABS nozzle and on the bottom of its bed.
Cons
- This page does not publish one fan percent for PLA, one for PETG, and one for ABS.
- The score-4 ABS reply also suggests a 110 °C (230 °F) bed preheat for about 30 minutes. 110 °C (230 °F) is the top of the Bambu ABS and SUNLU ABS beds. The preheat time is the comment.
Printer considerations
- PLA warping on r/BambuLab 11k02bp drew a score-21 reply to turn the aux fan off for the whole print. The cup thread's score-27 reply says the early layers are not cooling enough and to raise minimum layer time. A score-3 reply says to turn the aux fan on and not to print PLA fully enclosed.
- ABS fan figures in r/FixMyPrint 1eq1o4v are a score-18 reply at off or about 25%, a score-4 reply at off or at most 15–20% on overhangs, and a score-11 reply on an enclosed v400 with fan minimum 0 and maximum 20. The v400 is not a printer in this catalog. That reply also preheats the bed to 120 °C (248 °F), drops it to 95 °C (203 °F), and reads a chamber around 47 °C (117 °F).
- r/3Dprinting wcruou is PLA+ fittings for a PC water loop, not a part-cooling fan test. A score-12 reply says PLA degrades in water and to treat the print as a prototype for an ABS part. A score-4 reply guesses loop water around 40 °C (104 °F). That guess is the comment.
What the community says
r/BambuLab 11k02bp is warping PLA on PEI, a 70 °C (158 °F) bed, and no cooling for the first 10 layers. A score-21 reply says to turn the aux fan off for the whole print. A score-8 reply says to lower the bed to 50 °C (122 °F). r/FixMyPrint 1kihpei is rippling on cups in Polymaker PLA matte at 220 °C (428 °F) and a 55 °C (131 °F) bed, aux fan off, 0.6 mm nozzle, on a P1S. The score-27 reply says the small layers are not cooling long enough and to raise minimum layer time. A score-3 reply says to turn the aux fan on and that PLA is a poor fit in a fully closed printer. r/FixMyPrint 1eq1o4v is a first ABS print that lifted. The poster lists an FLSun T1, SUNLU ABS, 250 °C (482 °F), 260 °C (500 °F) on the first layer, and a 90 °C (194 °F) bed. A score-18 reply says the part fan off, or about 25%, for layer adhesion. A score-4 reply says stay at 260 °C (500 °F) and 100 °C (212 °F), fans off or at most 15–20% for overhangs, and a 110 °C (230 °F) preheat. A score-11 reply prints ASA and ABS on an enclosed v400 with the fan from 0 to 20, a bed preheated to 120 °C (248 °F) then run at 95 °C (203 °F), and a chamber around 47 °C (117 °F). r/BambuLab zz2kd2 tells people in a cool room to set the chamber fan to 10% on the screen. The poster then sees a chamber of 39 °C (102 °F) and calls that good for strong PETG. r/3Dprinting wcruou is printed G1/4 water-cooling fittings in PLA+ at 100% infill. A score-12 reply says PLA degrades in water. A score-4 reply mentions loop water around 40 °C (104 °F) and a video of a softened tube.
