# Where do I get good slicer profiles for a filament?

Start from the slicer profile or the manufacturer sheet for that spool, then calibrate temperature, flow, and pressure advance on the spool you loaded.

Use the profile that belongs to the spool, then change temperature, flow, and pressure advance only after a test on that spool. A generic PLA preset is a guess until it matches the row below.

## Manufacturer sheets

[Bambu PLA Basic](/brand/bambu-lab/pla-basic) lists 190–230 °C (374–446 °F) and 35–45 °C (95–113 °F), with drying at 50 °C (122 °F) for 8 h. [PolyLite PLA](/brand/polymaker/polylite-pla) lists 190–230 °C (374–446 °F) and 25–60 °C (77–140 °F), with drying at 55 °C (131 °F) for 6 h and a print speed of 40–60 mm/s. [Prusament PLA](/brand/prusament/pla) lists 205–225 °C (401–437 °F) and 40–60 °C (104–140 °F), and drying is not stored. [PETG HF](/brand/bambu-lab/petg-hf) is the reminder that a PLA profile does not carry over: 230–260 °C (446–500 °F) and 65–75 °C (149–167 °F). [PLA](/material/pla) and [PETG](/material/petg) are the material hubs.

## What these threads actually say

The r/FixMyPrint vq9gnz comment we can point at is about Cura wall order on droopy overhangs, not a temperature. The supplied comments on r/3Dprinting 105sfr7 are jokes and are not quoted here as advice. The bank also lists r/BambuLab 14uype2, r/BambuLab 1tr09f9, and r/3Dprinting sedzai. This page does not attribute a profile recipe to those three threads, because the supplied excerpts do not include one.

## Calibration after the profile

[Flow calibration](/answers/flow) is pressure advance and flow. [Drying](/answers/drying) comes before you decide a profile is wrong. [Filament quality](/answers/filament_quality) is the case where diameter or a tangle makes every profile look bad. This page does not publish an OrcaSlicer download or a flow percent.

## What the community says

The editorial summary says to start from the slicer's built-in or manufacturer profile, then calibrate temperature, flow, and pressure advance per spool, and it names OrcaSlicer. The supplied top comments do not say OrcaSlicer. One comment on r/FixMyPrint vq9gnz guesses that inner-before-outer walls is not enabled in Cura, and the same thread is about droopy overhangs. The r/3Dprinting 105sfr7 comments supplied here are jokes. This page keeps the manufacturer-sheet start, which the catalog can show, and leaves OrcaSlicer as an unverified line in the summary.
