# What is PCTG, and how does it compare with PETG?

Fiberlogy's PCTG page, read 27 October 2026, lists a printing temperature of 250–270 °C (482–518 °F) and a bed of 90 °C (194 °F). Its notched Izod impact result is 92 kJ/m² under ISO 180, which is an impact test. PolyLite PETG's heat-deflection temperatures are 78 °C (172 °F) and 75 °C (167 °F) under ISO 75, which is a bending test. Those methods are different, so they are not one ranking.

PCTG is a polyester filament, in the same family as PETG, with its own print temperatures and its own test table. [How to print PETG](/answers/petg_print), [PLA versus PETG](/answers/pla_vs_petg), and [chemical resistance](/answers/chemical) already cover the polyester most people mean. Food contact for any of these plastics is [food contact](/answers/food-contact).
## Fiberlogy's page, read 27 October 2026

The [Fiberlogy PCTG page](https://fiberlogy.com/en/filaments/pctg-en/pctg-pctg-en/) lists a printing temperature of 250–270 °C (482–518 °F), a bed of 90 °C (194 °F), and bed surfaces of smooth PEI plus adhesive, textured PEI, or glass plus adhesive. Drying is 60 °C (140 °F) for 4 hours. An enclosed chamber is not required. Airflow is 0–25 percent. Density is 1.23 g/cm³.

Heat deflection is 76 °C (169 °F) at 0.45 MPa and 64 °C (147 °F) at 1.8 MPa, ISO 75. A separate line says the filament keeps its properties at temperatures up to 76 °C (169 °F). That 76 °C (169 °F) matches the lighter-load heat-deflection result. The heavier-load result on the same page is 64 °C (147 °F).

Tensile strength, ISO 527, is 43 MPa at yield and 45 MPa at break. Elongation is 4 percent at yield and 220 percent at break. Flexural strength, ISO 178, is 60 MPa, and the bending modulus is 1600 MPa. Notched Izod impact, ISO 180, at 23 °C (73 °F), is 92 kJ/m².

The page also says impact resistance is up to 20 times that of PETG, and that impact tests give approximately 90 kJ/m² against a PETG figure of 5–8 kJ/m² in the notched Izod test. The 5–8 figure is Fiberlogy's comparison sentence. It is not the PolyLite PETG datasheet. The specification table says 92 kJ/m², while the comparison sentence says approximately 90. Both lines stay.

[The catalog row](/brand/fiberlogy/pctg), Open Filament Database verified 13 October 2026, stores 230–260 °C (446–500 °F) and a bed of 70–90 °C (158–194 °F). That is not the product-page band. [AzureFilm PCTG](/brand/azurefilm/pctg) stores a single nozzle of 250 °C (482 °F) and a bed of 80 °C (176 °F) from the same database and date.
## Against PolyLite PETG, same test only

[PolyLite PETG](/brand/polymaker/polylite-petg), checked 21 October 2026, is 78 °C (172 °F) at 0.45 MPa and 75 °C (167 °F) at 1.8 MPa, ISO 75. Fiberlogy PCTG is 76 °C (169 °F) and 64 °C (147 °F) on those loads. On this bending test, against this PETG, the PCTG numbers are not higher. PolyLite PETG's row does not store an Izod result, so Fiberlogy's 92 kJ/m² is not subtracted from a Polymaker impact number.

The page says chemical resistance is high and suitable for industrial environments. It does not give a chemical, a concentration, or a time. [Chemical resistance](/answers/chemical) is where that table is refused. The page says the material does not contain BPA, and that food-contact approval applies to the PCTG Pure TR version only. That asterisk is not extended to the other colors.
## What the community says

[a Reddit thread in r/3Dprinting](https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/ry4crb/) says pure nylon will creep, and names eSUN ePA-CF, Fiberlogy PCTG, and Extrudr ASA CF as filaments that person enjoyed.

[a Reddit thread in r/BambuLab](https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/x9q9cn/) says Fiberlogy claims a printing speed under 100 mm/s for PCTG.

[a Reddit thread in r/BambuLab](https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/x9q9cn/) says PCTG always releases from the bed.
