# What filaments can Elegoo Neptune printers run?

Elegoo's Neptune 4, 4 Pro, 4 Plus, and 4 Max pages list a 300 °C (572 °F) nozzle and name PLA, TPU, PETG, ABS, ASA, and nylon. The hot bed is 110 °C (230 °F) on the 4 and 4 Pro, 100 °C (212 °F) on the 4 Plus, and 85 °C (185 °F) at a 25 °C (77 °F) room on the 4 Max. Elegoo's Neptune 3 comparison gives the Pro, Plus, and Max a 260 °C (500 °F) nozzle and a 100 °C (212 °F) bed, and it does not repeat that six-material line.

## Neptune 4, 4 Pro, 4 Plus, and 4 Max

The [Neptune 4](https://www.elegoo.com/products/elegoo-neptune-4-fdm-3d-printer) and [Neptune 4 Pro](https://us.elegoo.com/products/elegoo-neptune-4-pro-fdm-3d-printer) pages, read 28 October 2026, list a maximum nozzle of 300 °C (572 °F) and a maximum hot bed of 110 °C (230 °F). Filament compatibility on both is PLA, TPU, PETG, ABS, ASA, and nylon. Both say ABS and ASA should be used with an enclosure.

The [Neptune 4 Plus](https://www.elegoo.com/products/neptune-4-plus-fdm-3d-printer) lists the same 300 °C (572 °F) nozzle, the same six materials, and the same enclosure tip. Its maximum hot bed is 100 °C (212 °F).

The [Neptune 4 Max](https://www.elegoo.com/products/neptune-4-max-fdm-3d-printer) lists the same 300 °C (572 °F) nozzle, the same six materials, and the same enclosure tip. Its maximum hot bed is 85 °C (185 °F) at an ambient temperature of 25 °C (77 °F). The [Max FAQ](https://wiki.elegoo.com/en/faq/neptune-4-max-faq) repeats those two ceilings and says the room should be about 25 °C (77 °F) to reach the bed maximum.
## Neptune 3 Pro, Plus, and Max

Elegoo's [comparison](https://eu.elegoo.com/blogs/3d-printer-user-guide/neptune-3-series-comparison-pro-vs-plus-vs-max) groups the Neptune 3 Pro, Plus, and Max. It says the bed can be set up to 100 °C (212 °F) and the nozzle up to 260 °C (500 °F), and that the nozzle is suitable for ABS. It says the family is intended for all kinds of filaments, including TPU. It does not publish the Neptune 4 list of PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, and nylon as a specification table. ASA and nylon are not given a Neptune 3 ceiling on that page.
## Spool temperatures next to those ceilings

[Elegoo PLA](/brand/elegoo/pla) stores 190–230 °C (374–446 °F) and a bed of 35–65 °C (95–149 °F). [Elegoo TPU 95A](/brand/elegoo/tpu-95a) stores 220–240 °C (428–464 °F) and a bed of 30–45 °C (86–113 °F). Both bands sit inside every ceiling above.

[Elegoo PETG](/brand/elegoo/petg) stores 220–250 °C (428–482 °F) and a bed of 70–90 °C (158–194 °F). The nozzle fits. The 90 °C (194 °F) top of the bed fits the 4, 4 Pro, and 4 Plus, and it is above the 4 Max bed of 85 °C (185 °F). Do not set the Max bed to 90 °C (194 °F) from this catalog cell.

[Elegoo ABS](/brand/elegoo/abs) stores 240–280 °C (464–536 °F) and a bed of 90–100 °C (194–212 °F). [Elegoo ASA](/brand/elegoo/asa) stores 240–270 °C (464–518 °F) and a bed of 90–100 °C (194–212 °F). Elegoo names both materials on the Neptune 4 family pages. The catalog nozzle for ABS passes 260 °C (500 °F), so it does not fit the Neptune 3 ceiling as a whole band. Both beds pass 85 °C (185 °F), so they do not fit the 4 Max bed as a whole band.

[Kobra filaments](/answers/kobra_filament), [K1 and Ender-3 V3](/answers/k1_filament), [Ender 3 filaments](/answers/ender_filament), and [Elegoo as a brand](/answers/brand_elegoo) are separate machines and spools.
## What the community says

A comment in [a Reddit thread in r/ElegooNeptune4](https://www.reddit.com/r/ElegooNeptune4/comments/1d692oj/) says ASA needs an enclosure for anything larger than a trinket so it does not warp.

A comment in [a Reddit thread in r/ElegooNeptune4](https://www.reddit.com/r/ElegooNeptune4/comments/1ilaf7j/) says cooling an ASA print too fast after it finishes can stress the part until it breaks.

A comment in [a Reddit thread in r/ElegooNeptune4](https://www.reddit.com/r/ElegooNeptune4/comments/1dwxs2r/) says brittle ASA was wet filament, and that dry ASA on a Neptune 4 Plus stayed tough without an enclosure.
