# How do I print glow-in-the-dark filament?

The comments supplied here are about brittle PLA, not about a nozzle alloy. Prusament PETG Ultraglow's product page is the row that says the material is abrasive and wants a hardened nozzle. Dry a brittle spool on its own drying line.

Glow filament in this bank arrives as a brittle-PLA question. The nozzle instruction that is actually on a product page is Prusament PETG Ultraglow. The other rows are print temperatures, and two of them have a drying line.
[Why filament is brittle](/answers/brittle) already quotes the first thread and, for this bank, had no uh9ge7 comments. The drying step is [drying](/answers/drying). A glow spool that prints once it is dry is still [PLA](/answers/pla_print) or the PETG row you loaded. [PLA](/material/pla) and [PETG](/material/petg) are the hubs.

## The comments are the brittle threads

[a Reddit thread in r/3Dprinting](https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/1myq0ge/): "Was it like that when it arrived? If so I wouldn’t accept that shit."

[a Reddit thread in r/3Dprinting](https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/1myq0ge/): "When pla gets old and moist it gets very brittle. But it's way worse with cheap filament usually".

[a Reddit thread in r/FixMyPrint](https://www.reddit.com/r/FixMyPrint/comments/uh9ge7/): "I've had way more brittle PLA than that and it prints fine. That looks like it took some effort to break to me."

## Nozzle and temperatures

[Prusament PETG Ultraglow](/brand/prusament/petg-ultraglow) lists 260 ± 10 °C (500 ± 18 °F) and a heatbed of 85 ± 10 °C (185 ± 18 °F). The 16 October 2026 check records the page calling it highly abrasive, requiring a hardened nozzle, and recommending a 0.6 mm hardened non-high-flow nozzle. The same check says drying is optional and that the page does not list a drying temperature or time. The catalog's 55 °C (131 °F) for 6 h on this row is the material default from Prusa's drying article, not that product page.

[Overture Glow PLA](/brand/overture/glow-pla) lists 190–220 °C (374–428 °F), a bed of 25–60 °C (77–140 °F), and drying at 50 °C (122 °F) for 7 h on the product page checked 17 October 2026. The hardened flag is blank. [Hatchbox Glow PLA](/brand/hatchbox/glow-pla) states 180–220 °C (356–428 °F) on the product page checked 19 October 2026 and does not state a bed. The 50–70 °C (122–158 °F) bed is the Open Filament Database cell. Drying is not stored.

[Bambu PLA Glow](/brand/bambu-lab/pla-glow) dries at 55 °C (131 °F) for 8 h on its technical data sheet. The 190–230 °C (374–446 °F) nozzle and 50–70 °C (122–158 °F) bed are Open Filament Database cells, and the hardened flag is blank. [Which nozzle](/answers/nozzle) already cites Bambu's filament guide: glow is one of the particle fills that use hardened steel, and for Bambu glow the first choice named there is a 0.4 mm hardened nozzle. That is the guide, not a sentence in these comments.

[Prusament](/brand/prusament), [Overture](/brand/overture), [Hatchbox](/brand/hatchbox), and [Bambu Lab](/brand/bambu-lab) are the brand indexes.
