# Is eSun filament good?

eSUN is a long-standing budget and midrange brand in this consensus, PLA+ is the spool people name, and the summary's caveat is batch variability.

eSUN, in this consensus, is a budget and midrange brand people already know, with PLA+ as the spool they name. Batch variability is the caveat in the summary. A bad print is still checked the same way as any other spool. [Filament quality](/answers/filament_quality) is those signs. [Budget filament](/answers/cheap) is the wider name list.

## The three rows

The brand in the catalog is [eSUN 3D](/brand/esun-3d). [PLA+](/brand/esun-3d/pla-plus) lists 190–230 °C (374–446 °F) and a bed of 50–70 °C (122–158 °F). [PETG](/brand/esun-3d/petg) lists 220–250 °C (428–482 °F) and 70–90 °C (158–194 °F). [ABS+](/brand/esun-3d/abs-plus) lists 230–260 °C (446–500 °F) and 90–110 °C (194–230 °F). Drying is not stored on these three. eSUN also sells other PLA products in the catalog. [PLA-Lite](/brand/esun-3d/pla-lite) lists a nozzle of 220 °C (428 °F) and a bed of 60 °C (140 °F), and the record does not define Lite. [PLA+](/material/pla-plus), [PETG](/material/petg), and [ABS](/material/abs) are the material hubs. [PLA versus PLA+](/answers/pla_vs_plaplus) is the plus question. [ABS printing](/answers/abs_print) already includes this ABS+ row.

The brand website is the manufacturer record. The temperatures above are the Open Filament Database cells. This page does not claim the homepage states those ranges.

## What the comments say

A comment on r/FixMyPrint ufz2cr says the author uses eSUN regularly and the pictured failure looks like calibration, and points at the Teaching Tech guide for e-steps, flow, and the first layer. A later comment on that thread asks whether a raft was needed. The raft line is not a filament grade.

A comment on r/FixMyPrint 1ed1iu2 says slowing down can help ABS layer adhesion. Another comment says layer adhesion trouble is known with SUN ABS+, then describes that person's own Voron parts at 40% infill, 5 top and bottom layers, 4 perimeters, and 250 °C (482 °F). That 250 °C (482 °F) sits inside the eSUN ABS+ nozzle range of 230–260 °C (446–500 °F) and is still one person's print. It is not the PLA+ row, which tops out at 230 °C (446 °F).

r/BambuLab 1amusks, r/prusa3d 1b68t3t, and r/FixMyPrint v7wvni are in the bank. The supplied excerpts do not include a temperature from those three threads.

## What the community says

The editorial summary says eSUN is a long-standing budget and midrange brand, PLA+ is widely liked, and some batch variability is reported. The catalog brand is eSUN 3D, slug esun-3d. A comment on r/FixMyPrint ufz2cr says the author uses eSUN regularly and the print looks like a calibration issue, and links the Teaching Tech guide. A comment on r/FixMyPrint 1ed1iu2 is about slowing ABS for layer adhesion, and a second comment names layer-adhesion trouble with SUN ABS+ while describing that person's Voron parts at 250 °C (482 °F). The bank's caveats field is empty. Variability is the summary, not a measured defect rate.
